Embed the QCST Customer Portal Inside an Approved Profile or Account Area
This article explains the supported embedded portal behavior and how to verify that dashboard links, replies, attachments, filters, pagination, and authorization continue to work inside the host layout.
Where this fits in QC Support Ticket
The Support Portal is ownership-scoped. Registered users work their own tickets; verified guests use a signed, expiring verification/access path for the specific guest ticket. Department choice also controls which scoped Categories and Ticket Fields are offered during intake.
Primary location: QC Support Ticket frontend Support Portal.
Before you begin
- Use a normal customer/guest test flow as well as administrator checks so ownership and verification behavior are tested under the same permissions customers use.
How to do it
- Use only the supported QCST embedded-portal integration in the approved profile/account host area; do not iframe or copy controller URLs manually.
- Open the account/profile page as a normal customer.
- Verify the embedded QCST dashboard, My Tickets, New Ticket, filters and pagination render inside the host layout.
- Open a ticket, post a reply and download an attachment to confirm QCST authorization still runs normally inside the embedded presentation.
- Test a second account to ensure host-layout embedding did not broaden ticket ownership.
Embedding does not replace authorization
An approved profile/account area can link to or embed the QCST Support Portal route so support feels integrated with the site’s account experience. The surrounding layout/module/profile plugin must not bypass QCST’s own Joomla session and customer ownership checks.
Integration checklist
- Use the real Support Portal menu/component route rather than reproducing ticket data with insecure custom SQL.
- Preserve Joomla login/session context.
- Test navigation, form submission and attachments inside the surrounding layout.
- Verify direct/embedded access with two customer accounts so one cannot open the other’s ticket.
- Retest after template/profile-extension updates because wrappers can affect CSS, form targets or redirects.
