Using Recent Activity and Understanding Site-Time Timestamps

Recent Activity shows the latest 10 locally recorded QCTNH service/scheduler events and converts stored UTC timestamps into Joomla’s configured site timezone for administrator display.

Read Recent Activity

Each row contains Time (Site), an event label, and a message. Event keys such as registered, webcron_synced, service_paused, service_resumed, or origin_mismatch_ignored are displayed with underscores converted to spaces.

Timezone behavior

QCTNH stores/protocols scheduler timestamps in UTC. The administrator view constructs a UTC DateTime and converts it exactly once to Joomla’s configured site timezone, displaying date, 12-hour time, and timezone abbreviation.

What Recent Activity is best for

  • Confirming registration/synchronization attempts.
  • Seeing whether an origin mismatch was deliberately ignored.
  • Confirming local pause/resume actions.
  • Correlating service warnings with the current Dashboard state.

What it is not

It is not Joomla’s complete Scheduled Task execution history. Use Joomla Scheduler/task-specific logs when you need the detailed result of an extension-owned task.

Interpreting a stable result

After using Using Recent Activity and Understanding Site-Time Timestamps, a stable QCTNH system should settle into a coherent set of indicators: native WebCron ready, service state matching your choice, scheduler health consistent with current locks/due work, and recent service contact when registration/check-ins succeed.

Temporary transitions are normal—for example, Working while a task lock is active or Due while queued work waits. The goal is not to force every metric to green at every instant; it is for the metrics to accurately describe Joomla’s real scheduler state.

Use Recent Activity

  1. Open Dashboard and scroll to Recent Activity.
  2. Locate the event nearest the time of the behavior you are investigating; the table shows the newest local events first and displays time in Joomla site time.
  3. Read the event key and message together—registration, WebCron synchronization, pause/resume, and origin events describe different layers.
  4. Compare that site-time timestamp with Joomla, PHP, web-server, WAF, or owning-extension logs for the same period.
