Using Test Connection

Test Connection is the full end-to-end registration test: it prepares native WebCron, permits an intentional origin change when appropriate, registers with QuantaCade, and probes the actual Joomla WebCron route.

Use Test Connection

  1. Open Dashboard.
  2. Confirm you are using the intended canonical Administrator URL for this site. This matters because Test Connection may adopt a new origin after a real migration.
  3. Click Test Connection.
  4. Read the result message. Success states that QuantaCade registration succeeded and Joomla WebCron is ready for direct wake-ups.

What the test performs

The handler calls ensureWebCronConfiguration() and then forces register(true, true). The second true explicitly allows origin adoption: if the current origin differs from the stored registered origin, QCTNH rotates to a new installation UUID and service secret before registering the migrated site.

Important: this is not a no-op test

The central registration process calls the actual native Joomla WebCron endpoint as its reachability probe. If a task is due, Joomla may use that request to run one eligible task.

What the setting cannot override

Using Test Connection does not override Joomla task recurrence, task state, CLI exclusivity, locks, or extension-specific failures. QCTNH can change when an external wake-up is useful and can show the current scheduler condition, but Joomla still decides whether a task is eligible and what happens during execution.

If the Dashboard value looks correct yet a specific workload remains wrong, move the investigation to Joomla Scheduled Tasks and the owning extension rather than repeatedly changing QCTNH service settings.
