What QCTNH Does Not Replace

QCTNH adds reliability and health monitoring around Joomla Scheduled Tasks, but it does not replace Joomla Scheduler, task plugins, or every type of cron-based workload.

QCTNH does not replace Joomla Scheduler

Joomla remains responsible for task registration, recurrence, task selection, execution, locking, exit status, and task-specific behavior. QCTNH calls Joomla’s native WebCron route and never forces a specific task ID.

QCTNH does not replace the extension that owns a task

If a backup, mail, cleanup, or integration task fails inside its own extension, QCTNH can report evidence of a failed WebCron application result, but it does not repair that extension’s business logic.

QCTNH does not run CLI-only tasks through WebCron

Tasks marked cli_exclusive=1 are counted separately and intentionally excluded from the web-runnable queue. If a critical workload is CLI-only, use an appropriate Joomla CLI/server-cron execution path.

QCTNH does not automatically clear stale scheduler locks

Stale locks are surfaced as an Attention condition. Automatically deleting scheduler locks could interfere with real long-running work or conceal the root cause, so lock repair remains an administrator decision.

For What QCTNH Does Not Replace, keep the execution boundary clear: QCTNH prepares and observes Joomla’s own scheduler infrastructure, while the task routines remain owned by Joomla and the extensions that registered them. A healthy QCTNH installation therefore depends on a healthy Joomla Scheduler component and System - Schedule Runner plugin, not on a proprietary QCTNH task queue.

After any install, upgrade, or repair that touches scheduling, finish by opening Dashboard, running Check WebCron, and reviewing WebCron readiness, Scheduler Health, and Recent Activity. That verifies the local Joomla prerequisites before you involve the external service path.
