Understanding WebCron Ready and Needs Attention Status

WebCron Ready means the local Joomla prerequisites for QCTNH’s execution transport are present; Needs attention means at least one prerequisite is missing.

Ready requires

• System - Schedule Runner plugin exists and is enabled.
• Joomla Scheduler component exists.
• webcron.enabled=1.
• A non-empty Joomla WebCron key exists.

Check/repair

Use Check WebCron to run the local preparation logic without executing a Scheduled Task. If that succeeds but the connection badge remains Not Connected, use Test Connection to verify the external service path.

Ready is local, Connected is end-to-end

A WebCron Ready result proves the local Joomla transport prerequisites are present. It does not prove QuantaCade can reach the public endpoint, validate DNS/TLS, authenticate with the synchronized key, or accept the current origin. That is why a site can be WebCron Ready but Not Connected; Test Connection diagnoses the external half after local readiness is established.

Correlate with Recent Activity

When Understanding WebCron Ready and Needs Attention Status looks wrong, match it with Recent Activity and the owning task’s logs at the same time. QCTNH stores event timestamps in UTC and renders them once into Joomla’s configured site timezone, making it easier to compare registration, WebCron completion, pause/resume, and origin events with Joomla/PHP logs.

That timeline is often enough to distinguish “service never reached the site” from “Joomla ran something and the task itself failed.”
