What Joomla WebCron Is

Joomla WebCron is Joomla’s HTTP-based Scheduler trigger. QCTNH uses that native route as its sole current remote execution transport.

Native WebCron route

QCTNH asks Joomla’s router to generate the same route Joomla core uses for the Schedule Runner WebCron link. Depending on SEF/rewrite configuration, the path may use index.php?option=com_ajax... or a routed /component/ajax form.

Authentication

Joomla stores a WebCron key in the Scheduler component parameters. The QuantaCade worker appends that key as the hash parameter only when making the actual WebCron request. QCTNH registration intentionally does not store a URL containing a hash or task ID.

One request, Joomla in control

A WebCron request gives Joomla an opportunity to run one due task through the native Schedule Runner. If additional work remains due, QCTNH can issue bounded follow-up requests rather than attempting to execute tasks directly.

Use Joomla’s own evidence

When validating What Joomla WebCron Is, compare QCTNH with Joomla’s Scheduled Tasks screen. The database next_execution, task enabled state, CLI-exclusive flag, registered task routine, and lock state are the facts QCTNH uses. If Joomla itself shows a task disabled, locked, or no longer backed by a routine, QCTNH should not pretend it is a normal WebCron candidate.
