QCTNH Service Enable, Pause, and Resume Lifecycle

The Task Nudge service can be enabled, paused, and resumed without disabling Joomla Scheduler, native WebCron, or Lazy Scheduler.

Enable

On Dashboard, check Enable free QuantaCade Task Nudge service and Save. QCTNH persists the local enabled state and synchronizes service state with QuantaCade when possible.

Pause

Clear the checkbox and Save. QCTNH records the pause locally and attempts remote synchronization. Joomla’s own Scheduler/WebCron configuration remains available; only QuantaCade-managed wake-ups are paused.

Resume

Re-enable the checkbox and Save. QCTNH resumes service scheduling and reports current scheduler timing to QuantaCade. If remote synchronization fails, the local state is retained and the Dashboard/Recent Activity warns that synchronization needs another attempt.

Why pause is safer than dismantling WebCron

Temporary maintenance does not require deleting the Schedule Runner key, disabling the Joomla Scheduler, or uninstalling QCTNH. Pause controls the external wake-up service while preserving the native scheduler infrastructure.

Operational limits are deliberate

The constraints documented in QCTNH Service Enable, Pause, and Resume Lifecycle—public origin, standard ports, exact Joomla route, no CLI-only execution through WebCron, bounded retries, and no automatic stale-lock clearing—are safety/reliability design choices rather than missing configuration switches.

A workload outside those boundaries should use the appropriate Joomla/server mechanism instead of trying to make QCTNH bypass the task author’s or network’s execution model.
