Fixing a Missing or Disabled System - Schedule Runner Plugin

QCTNH depends on Joomla’s core System - Schedule Runner plugin for native WebCron. If that plugin is missing or cannot be enabled, QCTNH cannot create a valid WebCron wake-up path.

Normal behavior

Installation/upgrade and Check WebCron both try to locate System - Schedule Runner and enable it when disabled. QCTNH then updates its WebCron parameters without changing Joomla Lazy Scheduler settings.

Repair procedure

  1. Open Joomla System → Manage → Plugins.
  2. Search for System - Schedule Runner.
  3. If present but disabled, enable it and rerun QCTNH Check WebCron.
  4. If absent, verify the Joomla core installation/database/update integrity; the plugin is a Joomla core scheduling component, not a separate QCTNH add-on.
  5. After repair, run Check WebCron, then Test Connection if service registration still needs validation.

Avoid substitutes

Do not install the retired QCTNH task plugin or create a custom task just to replace Schedule Runner. QCTNH 2.0.3 intentionally uses Joomla’s native WebCron transport.

Confirm recovery at the same layer

After fixing Fixing a Missing or Disabled System - Schedule Runner Plugin, verify the original failure signal specifically: a 401 should disappear after key synchronization, a 404 after route repair, a TLS error after certificate repair, a stale-lock Attention state after safe task recovery, and a task_failed result only after the owning task succeeds.

Then confirm the broader Dashboard state is coherent rather than treating Connected alone as proof that every Scheduled Task is healthy.
