Troubleshooting Scheduler Health Showing Attention

Scheduler Health Attention means QCTNH detected one or more soft/stale task locks—locks older than Joomla Scheduler’s timeout-derived threshold—with no newer active lock taking precedence.

Treat Attention as evidence, not an auto-fix request

  • A prior task may have crashed or been killed.
  • A timeout may have left the scheduler row locked.
  • A legitimately long task may need a different timeout/operational review.
  • The owning extension may have thrown an exception before normal cleanup.

Safe investigation

  1. Find the affected task in Joomla Scheduler/database/extension logs.
  2. Confirm no process is still active.
  3. Review the task’s expected runtime and any fatal/error log around the lock time.
  4. Use Joomla/extension-supported lock recovery only after confirming it is safe.
  5. Run/observe the next scheduler cycle and confirm Soft / Stale Locks returns to zero.

Why QCTNH does not clear it

Blind lock deletion could allow overlapping execution or destroy useful evidence. QCTNH intentionally reports the condition and leaves recovery to the administrator/owning task semantics.

Preserve the failure evidence

Before attempting a repair for Troubleshooting Scheduler Health Showing Attention, record the HTTP/status message, Scheduler Health, due/lock counts, WebCron state, QuantaCade Contact, and Recent Activity timestamp. For lock/task problems, also capture the owning Scheduled Task title/type and extension log.

That evidence lets you verify the fix and avoids converting a precise 401/403/404/task_failed condition into an ambiguous “it works now” report.
