Understanding Available Version Status

Available Version reports the newest QCTNH release Joomla’s updater currently has for this site, and only represents an update when that version is greater than the installed 2.0.3 baseline.

How QCTNH decides an update is available

The Status helper loads Joomla’s update record associated with the QCTNH package. An update action is offered only when the update record has a version that compares newer than the installed extension version.

If the field is empty or unchanged

• Run Check for Updates to refresh Joomla’s update cache.
• Confirm Update connection is healthy.
• Review Joomla System → Update → Extensions for the same package and any error.
• Check Joomla minimum-stability/update settings if a prerelease or non-stable release is expected.
• Do not confuse a missing Available Version with a Task Nudge service registration problem.

Confirm before updating

Read release notes and ensure the package applies to your supported Joomla/PHP environment. QCTNH 2.0.3 itself requires PHP 8.1+ and Joomla 5.x or 6.x.

Useful evidence before making changes

Before acting on Understanding Available Version Status, capture the installed version, available version/update connection when relevant, site URL, Dashboard connection badge, WebCron state, Scheduler Health, and the most recent activity message. That snapshot makes it possible to tell whether a later change improved the correct subsystem.
