How Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile Browser Evidence Is Captured
Responsive browser evidence lets QCUL compare the updated laboratory at desktop, tablet, and mobile-style viewport sizes so obvious layout/resource failures are easier to notice.
Why multiple viewports help
- Navigation or controls may work at desktop width but collapse incorrectly on mobile.
- Conditional assets/scripts can load differently at smaller breakpoints.
- Administrator/frontend template CSS regressions can appear only in certain viewport ranges.
What to review
Look for clipped controls, overlapping content, missing menus, unusable dialogs/forms, horizontal overflow, and resources that fail only in one viewport. A screenshot is most useful when compared with expected production behavior and the surrounding console/resource evidence.
Do not confuse viewport evidence with device testing
A resized browser is not a full substitute for every physical browser/device combination. If the update affects a mobile-critical workflow, test that workflow on representative real devices/browsers before production.
Read evidence in context
Use How Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile Browser Evidence Is Captured together with the other evidence for the same tested item. A version check, route check, log message, screenshot, or file/database diff is strongest when it agrees with the surrounding evidence and your own reproduction in the private laboratory; no single signal should be treated as universal compatibility proof.
