Why Automated Checks Do Not Replace Human Review
Automated checks are intentionally limited to repeatable technical signals; they cannot know the business meaning of every Joomla site workflow.
Automation can catch
- Install/version failures.
- Broken representative routes.
- Blank/fatal/unexpected redirect output.
- Selected page-structure/selector problems.
- New logs, console errors, failed resources.
- Unexpected file/database change evidence.
Humans must decide
- Whether the site’s critical business workflows still behave correctly.
- Whether a changed UI is acceptable rather than merely technically present.
- Whether role-specific permissions and integrations work as intended.
- Whether the update’s functional behavior matches vendor/site requirements.
Production should require both
A technically clean automated report without human review is incomplete. A human “looks okay” review without exact-package/version/evidence controls is also weak. QCUL’s workflow intentionally combines both.
Read evidence in context
Use Why Automated Checks Do Not Replace Human Review together with the other evidence for the same tested item. A version check, route check, log message, screenshot, or file/database diff is strongest when it agrees with the surrounding evidence and your own reproduction in the private laboratory; no single signal should be treated as universal compatibility proof.
