Choosing the Laboratory Creation Speed
Lab creation speed controls how much copy/restore work QCUL attempts per browser-driven batch, trading completion speed against server load.
Location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Update Laboratory → Settings.
Step-by-step procedure
- Open QC Update Laboratory → Settings.
- Choose Lower server load, Standard — recommended, or Faster.
- Use Standard first. Choose Lower server load if shared hosting/timeouts indicate each browser request is doing too much work.
- Use Faster only when the server has enough headroom and you want more copy/restore work per request.
- Save Settings before creating or refreshing a laboratory.
Available values

Creation speed affects bounded request workload. It does not reduce the total amount of site data QCUL ultimately needs to copy or restore.
Practical administration note
For Choosing the Laboratory Creation Speed, make changes from the live Joomla administrator and verify the result in the same QCUL tab before starting laboratory work. QCUL’s streamlined 1.01.14 interface intentionally hides developer storage paths, raw batch controls, licensing fields, and retired management screens; do not look for those older controls as part of the current procedure.
