Configuring the Default Laboratory Duration
Default laboratory duration controls how long a new private laboratory remains accessible before it expires unless refreshed or removed sooner.
Location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Update Laboratory → Settings.
Step-by-step procedure
- Open QC Update Laboratory → Settings.
- Under Laboratory Options, choose Default laboratory duration: 1, 3, 7, 14, or 30 days.
- Use 3 days for ordinary update testing unless the review genuinely needs more time.
- Select Save Settings.
- The choice becomes the default for new laboratories; the create form can still use its available duration options.

Longer access keeps a production-derived copy and its sensitive data available longer. Choose the shortest period that supports the real review.
Practical administration note
For Configuring the Default Laboratory Duration, make changes from the live Joomla administrator and verify the result in the same QCUL tab before starting laboratory work. QCUL’s streamlined 1.01.14 interface intentionally hides developer storage paths, raw batch controls, licensing fields, and retired management screens; do not look for those older controls as part of the current procedure.
