Installing QC Update Laboratory

Install QC Update Laboratory through Joomla as the complete outer package so the administrator component, supporting plugins, schema, and package lifecycle are installed together.

Location: Joomla Administrator → System → Install → Extensions.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. In Joomla Administrator, open System → Install → Extensions.
  2. Upload the outer pkg_qcupdatelab-1.01.14.zip package. Do not install only the component ZIP by itself.
  3. After Joomla reports success, open Components → QC Update Laboratory.
  4. Open Status and confirm version 1.01.14 is installed.
  5. Open Settings and review the recommended defaults before creating the first laboratory.

Verify the complete package

  • Components → QC Update Laboratory opens without missing-extension errors.
  • Status reports installed version 1.01.14.
  • About states Free — all features included.
  • Joomla Scheduled Tasks can see the three QCUL operational routines after package/task integrity provisioning.

If installation reports a database or plugin error

Do not continue into laboratory creation until Joomla package installation is clean. Run Joomla database structure checks where appropriate, verify PHP/database permissions, and reinstall the same current outer package after correcting the underlying Joomla/server issue. Installing only an inner component ZIP is not a supported substitute for the package.

Practical administration note

For Installing QC Update Laboratory, make changes from the live Joomla administrator and verify the result in the same QCUL tab before starting laboratory work. QCUL’s streamlined 1.01.14 interface intentionally hides developer storage paths, raw batch controls, licensing fields, and retired management screens; do not look for those older controls as part of the current procedure.
