Opening QC Update Laboratory for the First Time

The first QCUL visit should be used to verify the installed version, review the simple administrator layout, set conservative defaults, and create a low-risk private laboratory before testing anything important.

Location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Update Laboratory.

First-use sequence

  1. Open Status and confirm QCUL 1.01.14 is installed and the QuantaCade update site is available.
  2. Open Settings. For a first test, keep the recommended 3-day duration, Standard creation speed, and 30-minute Undo Production Push window.
  3. Open Laboratory and create a private laboratory.
  4. Verify the private frontend and administrator links and the external access gate.
  5. Refresh Updates and choose one low-risk extension update for the first rehearsal.
  6. Test it, review the result and report, use Undo Lab Update once, then retest before considering the first controlled production push.

What not to do first

Do not begin with a high-impact Joomla core update on an unfamiliar host. Establish that creation, private access, update testing, report download, and laboratory undo all work on this environment first.

Practical administration note
