Using the Status Tab

The Status tab is about QC Update Laboratory itself—its installed/available version and update-site condition—not the Joomla or extension update currently being rehearsed.

Location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Update Laboratory → Status.

Read the QCUL update status

• Installed QC Update Laboratory version.
• Site/update-site identity and whether the QCUL update source is enabled/available.
• Latest available QCUL version after a check.
• Last check/result indicators.
• Check for Updates action and, when appropriate, Update QC Update Laboratory.

Do not confuse the two update systems

Status manages the QCUL product package. The Laboratory → Test Updates table manages Joomla core/third-party updates you want to rehearse. Testing a site update never happens from the Status tab.

Useful verification

After updating QCUL itself, return here and confirm the Installed Version changed and the update source is still usable before resuming laboratory work.

Practical administration note

For Using the Status Tab, make changes from the live Joomla administrator and verify the result in the same QCUL tab before starting laboratory work. QCUL’s streamlined 1.01.14 interface intentionally hides developer storage paths, raw batch controls, licensing fields, and retired management screens; do not look for those older controls as part of the current procedure.
