What QC Update Laboratory Does

QC Update Laboratory creates one private, production-derived Joomla copy so an administrator can test one Joomla core or extension update, review the evidence and the actual updated site, then push the exact tested package to production when ready.

The current 1.01.14 workflow

  1. Create or refresh one private laboratory from the current live site.
  2. Refresh Joomla update metadata and choose one available extension or Joomla core update.
  3. Select Test in Lab; QCUL captures the exact package, hashes it, saves a laboratory restore point, installs only in the lab, and records evidence.
  4. Review the updated private site yourself and record that review.
  5. Choose production protection and push the same tested package to the live site.
  6. Review production and, when a valid temporary QCUL checkpoint was selected, use Undo Production Push within its configured window if necessary.

Safety model

The laboratory is never promoted wholesale over production. Production remains authoritative. QCUL rechecks the exact package, selected target’s expected starting version, live-site identity, permissions, storage/environment, operation lock, human review, and production-protection choice immediately before production changes begin.

What is included

All current QCUL features are free. There is no license key, activation, subscription, trial, plan selection, or paid feature gate in 1.01.14.

Practical administration note

For What QC Update Laboratory Does, make changes from the live Joomla administrator and verify the result in the same QCUL tab before starting laboratory work. QCUL’s streamlined 1.01.14 interface intentionally hides developer storage paths, raw batch controls, licensing fields, and retired management screens; do not look for those older controls as part of the current procedure.
