Verifying the Laboratory After Undo Lab Update

A completed Undo Lab Update should be verified as carefully as the original test because the purpose is to prove the private environment actually returned to the known starting state.

Verification checklist

  • Confirm the extension/Joomla version returned to the pre-test version.
  • Open the laboratory frontend and administrator and verify basic routes load.
  • Check that the selected update becomes eligible/testable again when Joomla still offers it.
  • Review the restore result/evidence for warnings.
  • For critical tests, repeat the same update from this restored state and compare the result.

Do not assume “button completed” equals recovery

QCUL verifies version/basic route evidence after restore; you should also inspect the workflow the update affected. If the lab remains inconsistent, refresh it from production before making a production decision.

Preserve a known starting state

Verifying the Laboratory After Undo Lab Update is useful only when the restore point and current laboratory belong to the same latest test operation. If you cannot prove that relationship, refresh the laboratory from current production and perform a new test rather than manually reconstructing a state and reusing old evidence.
