Why an Update Can Become Testable Again After Undo

After a successful lab undo, the laboratory version returns below the offered target, so the same update can become eligible for Test in Lab again.

Eligibility is state-based

Before undo, the lab may show the target as Tested here or Already installed in lab. Once the restore verifies the original version and QCUL clears/updates the latest test state appropriately, the target can be selectable again when Joomla still offers it.

Why this is safe

The retest starts from a known restored state and gets a fresh pre-test restore point/evidence chain. QCUL is not simply erasing history; prior report evidence remains part of the maintenance record.

When it does not reappear

Refresh Updates. If Joomla no longer offers the update, the metadata/source changed, or the lab did not restore cleanly, investigate that condition rather than forcing the old update ID.

Preserve a known starting state

Why an Update Can Become Testable Again After Undo is useful only when the restore point and current laboratory belong to the same latest test operation. If you cannot prove that relationship, refresh the laboratory from current production and perform a new test rather than manually reconstructing a state and reusing old evidence.
