How QCUL Provisions and Repairs Missing Scheduled Tasks

QCUL’s task-integrity service can create a missing operational Scheduled Task row and repair malformed required fields without blindly replacing a valid administrator configuration.

Repair behavior

• Inspects Joomla #__scheduler_tasks availability/columns.
• Finds canonical rows by task type or expected QCUL title.
• Creates a missing task with default execution/cron rules.
• Repairs invalid JSON containers for execution rules, cron rules, or params.
• Sets a future next_execution when the canonical row lacks a valid one.
• Normalizes the task type/title/note for the canonical row.

State preservation

If the selected canonical task is deliberately disabled, QCUL preserves that state rather than automatically publishing it. This respects administrator intent while keeping the row definition coherent.

After reinstall/update

If Scheduled Tasks reports a missing or malformed QCUL routine, updating/reinstalling QCUL can invoke integrity repair. Verify the result in Joomla Scheduled Tasks instead of manually creating arbitrary duplicate task rows.

Scheduled-task verification

After changing or repairing How QCUL Provisions and Repairs Missing Scheduled Tasks, verify the canonical task row in System → Scheduled Tasks: enabled/disabled state, Last Execution, Next Execution, and Last Exit Code. Registration alone does not prove the maintenance routine runs; Joomla Scheduler still needs Lazy Scheduler or server cron to trigger due work.
