QC Update Laboratory Expired Laboratory Cleanup

QC Update Laboratory Expired Laboratory Cleanup is the hourly operational task that closes expired lab access and removes QCUL-owned temporary data in resumable batches.

Default schedule

Every 60 minutes. The canonical task type is qc_update_lab.lab_cleanup.

What it cleans

• Expired laboratory access/environment lifecycle state.
• Run-owned temporary database tables.
• Run-owned laboratory/checkpoint/private files scheduled for cleanup.
• Expired production checkpoint data where appropriate.

Restartable cleanup

Cleanup is designed to continue across bounded task/batch work rather than assuming every large directory/table can be removed in one request. It records cleanup verification evidence and reports attention when owned objects cannot be removed.

No unsafe orphan deletion

This task handles known run-owned lifecycle data. The separate Orphan Scan reports unowned leftovers rather than deleting arbitrary unmatched objects automatically.

Scheduled-task verification

After changing or repairing QC Update Laboratory Expired Laboratory Cleanup, verify the canonical task row in System → Scheduled Tasks: enabled/disabled state, Last Execution, Next Execution, and Last Exit Code. Registration alone does not prove the maintenance routine runs; Joomla Scheduler still needs Lazy Scheduler or server cron to trigger due work.
