QC Update Laboratory Orphan Scan looks for QCUL-style directories and run-prefixed database tables that are not represented by current owned run records.

Default schedule

Every 24 hours. The canonical task type is qc_update_lab.orphan_scan.

What it reports

• Unexpected/stale directories under the QCUL laboratory storage convention.
• Database tables using QCUL run prefixes without an owning active run record.

Why it does not auto-delete unowned findings

Ownership uncertainty is a safety boundary. A name that looks like QCUL data is not enough proof to destroy it. Version 1.01.14 records the finding so an administrator can investigate rather than turning a diagnostic scan into an uncontrolled delete job.

Use findings carefully

Cross-check the active laboratory/history, filesystem path, database prefix, and recent failed cleanup evidence before manually deleting anything.

Scheduled-task verification

After changing or repairing QC Update Laboratory Orphan Scan, verify the canonical task row in System → Scheduled Tasks: enabled/disabled state, Last Execution, Next Execution, and Last Exit Code. Registration alone does not prove the maintenance routine runs; Joomla Scheduler still needs Lazy Scheduler or server cron to trigger due work.
