Refreshing the Available Joomla Update List

Refresh Updates asks Joomla for the current extension and core update metadata used by QCUL’s Test Updates table; it does not install anything.

Location: Joomla Administrator → Components → QC Update Laboratory → Laboratory.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Open the active laboratory workspace and locate Test Updates.
  2. Select Refresh Updates.
  3. Leave Hide Joomla language file updates enabled for a quieter list unless you specifically need language packages.
  4. Review the current Live Site, Laboratory, and New Version values before selecting a test.

What refresh changes

QCUL rebuilds the available-update view from Joomla updater/core metadata while retaining completed tested rows needed for reports and rollback context. Language-package updates are hidden by default in the table UI and can be revealed without changing the underlying Joomla update state.
